Ronald Wayne Balentine, lifelong Hominy resident passed from this life on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 53 years in Tulsa. He was born July 24, 1967 at Hominy, the son of Jerry Ronald and Shirley Jean (Young) Balentine. Ron was raised and received his education in Hominy, graduating with the Hominy class of 1985. Following high school he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics. Ron also served his country with the US Army. On November 30, 1993, he and Bonnie Sue Adams were united in marriage. Ron worked as a pipe-liner most of his life. He enjoyed music of all kinds, including the older country artists, but his taste in music also stretched to the rock group KISS, but his most favorite pastime was aggravating the grandchildren.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his mother Shirley Balentine of Hominy; his loving wife Bonnie; a son Waylon Stokes and wife Alicia and daughter Melissa Silkey and husband Charles all of Hominy. Also surviving are his brother Jerry Dean Balentine and wife Sandra and LaDonna Balentine, all of Hominy; four grandchildren Sabrina Diaz, Emily Miller, Sarah Stokes, Frank (Festus) Stokes; two great grandchildren Blaine Miller and Theo Brunt; two nieces Brye Branum and Jamie Valois as well as his grandparents Dean and Nora Estes of Cleveland. Preceding him in death was his father and a nephew R.J. VanZant.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland with his son Waylon Stokes officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW 5th Rifle District. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30th from 2pm – 6pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Services have been entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland.
