Roberta Ann Lamb passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of seventy-three years. Roberta was born on December 31, 1936 in Rochester, New York. She was the only child of Herbert and Olga (Nowack) Carkner. She was raised and attended school in Rochester, graduating from Rochester High School in 1954. Roberta was married to Floyd Lamb on April 15, 1976 in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The couple made their initial home in Jacksonville, North Carolina as Floyd was a member of the United States Marine Corps. The couple moved frequently over the next several years as duty stations changed between North Carolina and California. Following Floydís retirement, the couple moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma in September 2008 from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Roberta enjoyed working with her hands and all types of craft work including, knitting, crocheting, painting and ceramics. She was described by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the family matriarch that kept the entire family together. She was a very giving person, always willing to help and she was especially proud of her grandchildren. Roberta enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her spaghetti; which her grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Andrew Lamb of the home; a daughter and her husband, Debbi and Thomas Dawson of Lincolnton, North Carolina, a daughter, Doreen Dew of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and a daughter, Daphne Weglarz of Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Dawson, Elizabeth Williams, Emily Dawson, Crystal Trott, Brittany Tisdale, Eugene Weglarz III, Sara Weglarz. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. David Head officiating. Following cremation, Roberta will be placed in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.chapman-black.com. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Chapman-Black Funeral Home through Cremation Safeguard.
