Robert Phillip Garner

Robert Phillip (Denny) Garner of Cleveland, OK passed from this life at his home on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the age of 62 years. Denny, as he was known by was born December 21, 1959, at Tahlequah, OK to Willard E. and Lois Maxine (Massingale) Garner. He was raised and received his education at Verdigris and Catoosa, OK, graduating high school from Catoosa High in 1979. In high school, Denny participated in both football and wrestling. Following high school, he migrated to California, making his home in Tracy and later Modesto, CA. Denny worked for Spreckles Sugar Company as a powder packer and forklift operator until and accident forced him on to disability. While in Tracy, through friends, he was introduced to Wendy Leigh Havel; and on July 13, 1996, they were united in marriage at Lake Tahoe, CA and recently celebrating 25 years together. Denny enjoyed ATVing, classic car shows and spending time with his family, especially watching Cory play football and wrestling. Music was also a passion, and often listened to AC/DC and Hard Rock music . The family commented that he had a loving relationship with his children and his wife was his soulmate.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife – Wendy; children Cory, Dennis, and Alicia Garner; four brothers Joe Sisson Billy Garner, Jimmy Garner, David Garner, and a sister Sue Shelton. Also surviving are two grandchildren, an uncle – Don Garner and a cousin Elizabeth Fisher. Denny was preceded by his parents and a brother Lucky Edward Garner.
It was Denny’s request that he be cremated, and no formal services held. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, OK. www.chapman-black.com
