Robert Carl Hummel passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years. Bob was born on June 18, 1950 in Winnipeg, Canada. He was the son Friedrich and Olga (Jundt) Hummel. Bob was raised and received his education in Canada where he graduated high school. In 1972, Bob joined the United States Air Force and served for over 20 years at his retirement in 1992. During his active duty Bob received the following citations and decorations: Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Readiness Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Air Force overseas Ribbon ñ Short Tour, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters, US Air Force NCO PME Graduate Ribbon with Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with Bronze Service Star and the Air Force Training Ribbon. Following retirement from the U.S. Air Force Bob gained employment with the Civil Service training recruits as load masters. After his retirement from Civil Service, Bob moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma from Altus, Oklahoma. Survivors are his former spouse Catherine of the home, step children Deanna McKeown of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia Hammer and her husband Frank of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Kevin Campbell of Mannford, Oklahoma, six grandchildren Amanda, Beth Ann, Jamie, Jenna, Brittany, Breanna, three great grandchildren Noah, Andee, Alexus and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by father Friedrich Hummel, mother Olga Hummel and one brother Peter Hummel. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with David Logsdon officiating. Following the services military honors were provided by the Vance Air Force Base Honor Guard at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
