Peggy Ann Orrell

Peggy Ann Orrell passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.

Peggy was born June 4, 1941, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Clifton and Lucille Frances (Culver) Strothmann. As a young girl, Peggy was raised and received her education in Pawnee, graduating with the Class of 1958. Following the completion of her education, Peggy was united in marriage to Eddie Joe Barnes in Pawnee and to that union there are three sons. Shortly after their marriage, Peggy and Ed moved to California and later returned to the Sand Springs area in 1967. Peggy gained employment with Unit Rig and later accepted a position with Wiseda Engineering Group as the purchasing agent in Cardin, Oklahoma. Following the death of Ed's death, Peggy returned to the Tulsa area. Peggy has also worked as a purchasing agent for John Pickle and American Airlines. On October 20, 1990, Peggy was united in marriage to Robert E. Orrell. Peggy later gained employment at ICES in Cleveland, Oklahoma and retired fully in 2008.

Peggy loved to sew as well as work in her garden. Peggy and Bob loved to travel and took many trips in the travel trailer. One of their most memorable trips was to Hawaii. Peggy has been a longtime member of Westport Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors are her husband, Bob, of the home; son, Bruce Barnes and his wife Teresa of Terlton, Oklahoma, son Mike Barnes, of Terlton, Oklahoma, and Dave Barnes and his wife Cheryl of Gatesville, Texas; one brother, Richard Strothmann, and his wife Sandy, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda Rogers, of Pineville, Missouri; grandson Blake Barnes of Gatesville, Texas, and many other relatives and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Strothmann, mother Lucille Bomar, husband Ed, brother Kenny Strothmann, and grandson Keith Barnes.

Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Westport Baptist Church.
