January 3, 1937 — February 22, 2017

Pauline Joyce Childress

Pauline was born January 3, 1937, in Tulare, California.  She was the daughter of Lawrence Dewey and Cora Belle (Strong) Cross.  Pauline was raised and received her education in Tulare where she later graduated from high school.  Soon after high school, Pauline was united in marriage to Oads James Childress on January 8, 1955, in Waukina, California.  The couple established their first home in the San Joaquin Valley.  The couple moved several times between California and Oklahoma before moving to Cleveland in the early 1970’s.  While residing in Cleveland, Pauline worked as a seamstress at Munsingwear in Hominy, Oklahoma where she later retired.

Pauline had a wonderful sense of humor.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading and dancing when she could.  Pauline spent many hours reading the Bible, novels or anything with religious value.  Pauline loved having the grandchildren to her home especially during Easter and always having Easter egg hunts for them.  She also enjoyed sending them cards during birthday and holiday times.  Pauline was a giver always giving to those in need and enjoyed doing it.
