Paul Edward Jones of Jennings, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday evening December 27, 2011 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years and ten days old. Paul was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Morningside Hospital on December 17, 1930. He was the son of Sam Clark and Julette June (Harvel) Jones. As a young boy Paul was raised in Muskogee and then at the age of 14 moved with his parents to Long Beach, California where he completed his education. Shortly after high school Paul joined the United States Navy. He served his country during the Koren War and in 1952 was honorably discharged. Upon his discharge Paul moved to Wellston, Oklahoma and accepted employment with Phillips 66. He was then united in marriage to June Eloise Whitecotton on February 17, 1956. The couple made established their initial home in Warwick, Oklahoma. In 1959, Paul and June moved to Leadville, Colorado where he began working for Climax Molybdenum mining a steel hardening component. Following 10 years mining; Paul returned to school at Colorado Mountain College and obtained his certification as a diesel mechanic. Following graduation in 1973, Paul began working as the company diesel mechanic and later retired in 1983. Upon retirement Paul returned to Oklahoma and moved to Osage, Oklahoma. He began working for Tulsa Public Schools as the mechanic. After the death of his wife June, Paul moved to California in 1989. He returned to Missouri in 1991, and worked at the local McDonalds in Eldon, Missouri. In 2000, Paul moved to Jennings, Oklahoma and was united in marriage to Linda Sue Lewis on June 12, 2000. Paul also has worked at McDonalds on the Cimarron Turnpike and was last employed at the McDonalds in Cleveland. Paul enjoyed being outside. He really enjoyed his time fishing and playing golf. Paul especially loved to catch perch and crappie. One thing that Paul loved the most in life was being a servant of God. Paul was baptized at the young age of 12, and has always put the Lord before everything else in life. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years and longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jennings. He loved to listen to old gospel hymns and listen to Jimmy Swaggart and read his Bible. Survivors are his wife Linda Sue of the home, two children Carl Jones and his wife Judy of Chandler, Oklahoma, Delbert Jones and his wife Martha of Mannford, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren Donald Goss and his wife Linda of Mannford, Oklahoma, Sandy Jones of Denver, Colorado, Josh Jones and his wife Tina of Foley, Alabama, Eric Jones and his wife Jenna of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Donna Baker and her husband Rick of Mannford, Oklahoma, Paul Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Crystal Jones of Oilton, Oklahoma, Caleb Jones of Chandler, Oklahoma, Kevin Jones of Mannford, Oklahoma; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father Sam Jones, mother Julette Jones, first wife June Jones; one son Larry Jones on October 18, 2009; one daughter Carolyn A. Goss on February 19, 1990, siblings Forrest Jones, Modean Jones, Delbert Jones, John Clark Jones and Donald Gene Jones. Funeral will be held 2:30 pm Friday, December 30, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jennings, Oklahoma with Rev. J.W. Wright officiating. Burial will be held privately in the Jennings Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
