Patricia Lou Gilley

Patricia Lou Ellis and her twin sister, Dana Sue, were welcomed into this life by their parents, Hazel Margarette (McDaniel) Ellis and Estel Monroe Ellis on July 28, 1939, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Also celebrating their birth was a sister, Mavis Ann Williams.

Patricia spent much of her younger years with her father's sister and her husband, Aunt Bertha and Uncle Ernest Straight. The family story was that Patricia was a "stubborn" child. Patricia would go to Aunt Bertha's, who lived near the grade-school, before walking to class. She would tell her that she wasn't feeling well, and Aunt Bertha wouldn't make her go to school. Patricia failed the first grade which suited her- she wanted to start school with her best-friend. Patricia had a long, and loving relationship with her aunt and uncle. Patricia received her education in Cleveland, Oklahoma, with the Class of 1958. She married and didn't graduate with her class. Later in life, she was immensely proud to receive her GED.

Patricia and Jack Lee Gilley were married on July 28, 1956, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, and started their family. Patricia was a true homemaker; her world revolved around her husband and children, Jacqueline Louise, Mark Lee, Glen Howard, and Ester Michelle. After living in several states after their marriage, the family returned home to Cleveland. She enjoyed being with family and going to class reunions. Patricia was a member of the First Christian Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

She always enjoyed camping and traveling. Her favorite memories were of trips to Florida. She, her sisters-in-law, and other family members took numerous trips there. She especially liked the dolphins. When her husband, Jack, died and was cremated, in loving memory, she had ashes placed in a dolphin necklace that she wore for the rest of her life. Patricia was welcomed into her heavenly home on February 9, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Gilley; son, Mark Gilley; parents, Hazel (McDaniel/Williams/Ellis) Grigg and Estel Ellis; brother, Estel Jr.; twin sister, Dana Sue; and sister, Mavis Ann Bowling, step-grandson Kenneth Eugene Gilley.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Jacqueline Louise & Steve Williams; Ester Michelle Dolan, Glen Howard and Connie; sister: Lee Ann Grigg; Seven Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory.
