Norma Nadine Fieldcamp

Norma Nadine Fieldcamp was born August 3, 1953 in Yale, Oklahoma She was the daughter of Dierk Norman and Genevieve Nadine Fieldcamp. Nadine was raised in Terlton, attending school there and in Mannford, graduating from Mannford High School in 1971. While attending high school in Mannford, she was a member of the varsity girl's basketball team.

After the birth of her daughter, Tammie, Nadine moved to Colorado for a couple of years and then returned to Drumright, Oklahoma where she accepted employment with the Drumright Bank in 1973. She worked a short time at the bank and was then hired with the Headstart Program in Pawnee, where she worked for several years. On March 14, 1982, Nadine was employed as a correctional officer for the Dick Conners Correctional Center in Hominy. While employed at Conners, she was twice selected as employee of the month in April of 1991 and July of 1995; and as Correctional Officer of the Year in 1985. Nadine retired recently as a Sergeant on February 28, 2005 in order to assist in the care of her father.

Nadine was an avid University of Oklahoma Sooner football fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, taking them to the fair or just staying at a hotel with a pool for the weekend. She was a very loving, giving and caring person that could be tough when needed. She also enjoyed fishing. Nadine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Terlton. She also served as Mayor of Terlton.

Nadine passed away on Monday, June 13, 2005 in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of fifty-one years, ten months and ten days. She was preceded in death by her mother, an uncle, Willis Fieldcamp and a step-mother, Inez Bohannan.

Nadine is survived by her daughter, Tammie Wray Holder of Terlton, Oklahoma; her father, Norman Fieldcamp of Cleveland; a sister, Cathy and her husband Danny Carnline of Bethany, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Skyler Diaz, Anthony Diaz and Derek Diaz; two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Terlton with Pastor Bud Tibbles and Charles Links officiating. Burial will be at the Terlton Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
