Nicki Louise Morrison passed from this life on June 12, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nicki was born on August 13th, the year still unknown at Red Star, Arkansas, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Daniels) Ballenger. At a young age, Nicki moved with her family to Jennings, where she attended school. Following her education, Nicki was united in marriage to Tom Kent at the age of 16. Following their marriage, Nicki and Tom resided in Pawnee, Oklahoma. During World War II, Nicki and her sister Laura worked for McDonnell Douglas as "Rosie the Riveter." Following the death of Tom, Nicki moved to Tulsa, where she worked as a secretary for Service Pipeline Company for many years. One day Nicki took her vehicle in to be serviced at the local Buick Dealership, where she caught the eye of a young man. Vernon told his coworkers that one day he would marry that lady. Vernon and Nicki went on their first date following a month of daily calls. On May 4, 1956, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Vernon and Nicki were united in marriage with a fairy tale life following. Nicki and Vernon remained in Tulsa, where she continued working for Service Pipeline, later helping her sister Laura with Sheridan Village Beauty Salon. The couple later moved to California, where they remained for a few years, then returning to Jennings, where she operated the Jennings Café for a couple of years. Nicki then accepted employment with Oklahoma Turnpike Authority at the Hallett Exit. Nicki worked at the Toll Gate until she retired at the age of 80. Following her retirement, Nicki was elected Mayor of Jennings, Oklahoma, serving for five years.

Dancing, bowling, shopping was some of her favorite pastimes. Nicki and Vernon were active bowlers in a league for many years at Harvard Lanes with the Moose Lodge. However, going to the cabin on Grand Lake fishing was also a memorable time. The trip to Hawaii in early 2000 to visit Vernon's sister and brother-in-law was a highlight in her life. Nicki was a longtime member of the Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake. During her time there, she was a Sunday school teacher. Nicki always enjoyed going places and being active with her family and friends.

Survivors are her daughter Linda Bredenger and her husband Jim of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Chris Stout and his wife Leah of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Stacy Huggins and her husband Bill of Skiatook, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren Ashlyn, Ryan, Cambry, Jillian, Sam; three great great grandchildren Harper, Zayne and Vienna and a host of family and friends. Nicki was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ethel Ballenger, two husbands Tom Kent, Vernon Morrison, two sisters Laura Echalk, Velva Bias and a brother Tim Ballenger.

Services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Grace Gospel Church in Jennings, Oklahoma. Burial will be held in the Jennings Cemetery at Jennings, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Nicki at www.chapman-black.com.
