Newton Monroe Dean Ratliff passed from this life on July 22, 2021, at the age of 81 in Wichita, Kansas.

Dean was born on September 6, 1939, in Fairfax, Oklahoma the son of Emmitt and Blanche (Foreman) Ratliff. Dean grew up and received his education in Fairfax, Oklahoma. Following his education Dean began working in the oil field. On May 21, 1959, Dean was united in marriage to Mary Louise Donnelly in Hominy, Oklahoma. Following their marriage Dean and Mary moved to Hominy where they raised their five children Jimmie, Kerrie, Angela, Jeana and Terry Ann. Dean worked in the oil field for many years employed with Shep Welding, as well as for himself for many years as a welder. His was last employed with Bellport Oil where worked for over 30 years when he retired in 2001.

Dean spent lots of time being a family man. Loved making games for the grandkids to play while at the house during family events. Fishing was also something he enjoyed doing as well as boating. Spending time at the lake lot in Hominy, on the front porch and up on the hill were always memorable times.

Survivors are Mary of the home, five children Jimmie Ratliff of Hominy, Oklahoma, Kerrie Ellis of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Angela Ratliff of Hominy, Oklahoma, Jeana Settlemire of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Terry Ann Ratliff of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one brother Clarence Ratliff of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister Wanda Franklin of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren Jimmie, John, Micheal, Mitchell, Austin, Sabreena, Lea, Samuel, Tabitha, Bridget, Hannah, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Dean was preceded in death by five siblings Jean Dyer, Harry Ratliff, Bill Ratliff, Carl Ratliff, Lavon Fowler, three grandchildren Matthew Williams, Casie Dawn Hamilton and Drema Ellis.

Services will be held on 10:30 am, Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery at Hominy, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
