Nellie Louise Branson passed away at 2:15 am, Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home in at the age of eighty-six years, three months and six days.

Nellie was the daughter of John Roy Branson and Ella Bell (Booth) Branson. She was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma on March 3, 1917. The family moved to Cleveland and she was raised on the Branson farm, south of Cleveland. Nellie graduated from Cleveland High School with the class of 1936. After graduation, she accepted employment with Sun Oil Company in Tulsa as a bookkeeper, retiring after nearly forty years of service with the company.

Nellie was an active member of the Circle Class at the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa. She moved to California to be near her sister. In 1990 she returned to Cleveland to reside in the Baptist Retirement Village. Due to health reasons, Nellie was forced to moved to the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home on August 1, 1998.

She is survived by her sister, Laura Branson of Alhambra, California and two sister-in-laws, Doris Branson of Freemont, California and Vi Branson of Turlock, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers, Harold, Bill, Ray, Jack, Mike and Glen Pat Branson.

Nellie was cremated with her remains being buried by her parents in Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Kansas. Arrangements were entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.



Nellie Branson, a resident of Cleveland was born March 3, 1917 in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Ella Bell Branson and Roy John Branson. She passed away June 9, 2003 at Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years 3 months and 6 days. She was a Secretary/Bookkeeper, . She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa. She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Harold, Ray, Jack, Mike and Glen Pat Branson.
