Nancy Ann King

Nancy Ann King, 74, passed from this life on November 5, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The daughter of William and Gayra (Foshee) Richardson, Nancy was born on January 11, 1945 in Mississippi. Following her education, Nancy met William Cortez, and the couple moved to California. In the early 1980s, the couple again moved to Weaverville, California, where they owned and operated the Weaverville Inn. Later, the couple moved to Freemont, New Mexico. In 2016, they moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma.
In her spare time, Nancy would listen to country music and watch sports on TV, especially football. Her teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the OKC Thunder, the Houston Rockets, and the Oklahoma Sooners. Nancy loved to watch the kids play basketball, as well as play shuffleboard, bingo, and pool with them. Spending time with family during Christmas, making Thanksgiving Dinner, joking around and laughing with the kids were cherished memories.
Survivors include her five children, Sheree Dunnam, Deana Schaefer, Shanna Hensley, Benjie Huett, Dylan House; grandchildren Bobby Schaefer, Ashlee Spencer, Josh Million, Chelsea Schaefer, Travis Ferguson, Ashley Youtsey, Amanda Privett, Dylan Privett, Tyler Ferguson, Whitanie Ferguson, Becca Schaefer, Trey Ferguson, Alicia Evans, Harley Hensley, Ethan Helmuth, Dale Hensley, Zach Dunnam; and her great grandchildren Clayton, Saylor, Jayce, Travis Jr., Paytyn, Payge, Bobby III, Maverick, Graham, Cami, Dax, Logan, Jackson, Caydan, Trey Jr., Maci, Chesney. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Cortez.
A graveside service is being held for Nancy on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 1:00 PM in the Terlton Cemetery in Terlton, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.chapman-black.com
