Mildred Pearl Clark of Hominy, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 1, 2008 in Hominy, Oklahoma at the age of age ninety-two. She passed peacefully with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services for Mildred, will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the Leonard Pitts Memorial Chapel at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy with Rev. Carl Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Mildred was born December 10, 1915 in Hominy, Oklahoma the daughter of Emory and Nancy (Tisdale) Carter. She began her education in Hominy and later graduated Hominy High School with the Class of 1933. Mildred worked numerous jobs after graduation and was united in marriage to Flynn Evan Clark on April 15, 1936, at the family home on West First Street in Hominy. The couple made their initial home in Hominy and later moved to Balboa, California at the onset of World War II to help with the war effort; assembling aircraft at the Lockheed Plant. Mildred and Flynn continued to reside in California until the conclusion of World War II when they returned to Hominy, Oklahoma to raise their family.

Mildred was a devoted wife to Flynn as well as a loving mother to their children. She was a generous person and Flynn's friends could always count on getting something for lunch when Mildred prepared his lunch for work. Mrs. Clark was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Hominy where she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in the United Methodist Women; whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Christ. Additionally, Mildred served as a volunteer for the Girl Scout and Brownie Organization in Hominy as a Scout Leader for many years. She loved to make quilts and always looked forward to the family's annual trout fishing trip to Colorado. Mrs. Clark would frequently reminisce about the trip that she took with Marilyn to Los Angeles and Palm Springs area to visit her family; her first experience traveling on an airplane. Mildred also enjoyed riding horses and training dogs. Her passion, however, was through her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and exhibited her love for Him in her daily walk.

Survivors are her daughter Marilyn McGee and husband David of Hominy, Oklahoma, son Michael Flynn Clark and wife Gloria of Crestin, Iowa; two grandsons, Flynn D. McGee and wife Kelli of Hominy, Oklahoma, Michael Ryan Clark of Texas, two granddaughters Amanda Fay Clark of Austin, Texas, Tara McGee-Phetsacksith and husband Vanh of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren Iza and Noah, niece Juanita Eddings and husband John of Hominy, Oklahoma, nephew Jim Carter and wife Brenda of Hominy, Oklahoma as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins of the Tisdale and Clark families. In addition to her parents, C.W. and Effie Carter, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Flynn E. Clark, one brother Emory Carter and one sister Faye Carter.
