Mildred Oleta Toothman

Mildred Oleta Toothman passed from this life on December 29, 2022, at the age of 87, in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Oleta was born on January 29, 1935, at Wildhorse in rural Osage County, the daughter of Andy and Lillie (McClung) Reese. Oleta grew up and attended elementary school in Wildhorse, later completing her education at Prue High School. Oleta was united in marriage to Paul Toothman, and to that union, there are three children Paula Ann, Regina Lynn, and Glenn Edward. They established their home in Prue, where they raised their children. In the early 1970s, Oleta began working as a secretary at C.E. Natco in West Tulsa. Oleta was later united in marriage to Charles Oscar Toothman on September 3, 1977. She later gained employment at Pawnee Nation as a land clerk until 1987. Oleta then regained employment as an elementary secretary at the Prue Public School. After retiring from the school, Oleta worked for the City of Prue as the water clerk for a short time.

Oleta enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and cooking for others. She loved traveling and going to the softball games following her grandkids. Working in the garden, canning the fruits of her labor, and making candy during Christmas especially peanut brittle. Oleta liked visiting the Elks Lodge with her friends and family.

Oleta is survived by her daughter Jeannie Toothman of Prue, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Karen and her husband Lonnie Froese of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Lisa and her husband, Todd Weldon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two sisters Phoebe "Toots" Holmes of Prue, Oklahoma, Thelma "Woots" Jones of Prue, Oklahoma; one grandson Caleb Toothman; eight step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren Kennedy, Ashlynn, Brooklynn, Easton, Kimber; numerous step great grandchildren, friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Toothman, two children, Paula Ann and Glenn Toothman, and siblings Ara, Faye, Jess, J.D., and Beatrice.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, with Rev. Garry McDevitt and Dev Brill officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery at Prue, Oklahoma.
