Michael Don Chapman, 50, passed from this life on July 27, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born March 18, 1969, in Osborne, Kansas, Michael was the son of Donald Hubert and Marla Kay (Miller) Chapman. When Michael was 3, the family moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Growing up, Michael played basketball, baseball and track. Michael was baptized on October 30, 1977. Michael attended Cleveland Schools, graduating with the class of 1987. After graduation, Michael continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Shortly after, Michael began working at Webco. After 4-5 years, Michael began working at Cleveland X-Ray, working there until he became disabled.

On August 5, 1991, Michael married Stephanie Dobbs, and on April 23, 1992 had his only child Brandon Michael Chapman. Michael was very proud of Brandon for serving our country in the United States Army. Michael loved spending his spare time catfishing, deer hunting, target shooting and especially pheasant hunting in Kansas. Special yearly trips were taken back to Osborne, Kansas to spend time fishing with grandpa. Several hours were also spent playing cards and Wahoo, especially this past year.

Survivors include Brandon Chapman and Chelsey of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, parents Don and Marla Chapman of Cleveland, Oklahoma; sister Kim Ball and Randy of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother Kevin Chapman and Mignon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; girlfriend Tracy Turner of Cleveland, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews Kacey and Jacob Wurster, Levi Ball, Tanner and Kimberly Ball, Laramie Ball, Maverick Ball, Keagen Chapman, Wyatt Chapman, Cohen Chapman, several great-nieces and nephews; special friends Denton Spencer, Justin and Stacy Blackburn, Brian Parker and many other special friends. Also surviving Michael is his beloved dog, Joker. Preceded Michael in death are his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Evelyn Miller and paternal grandparents Roy and Margaret Chapman.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 11:00 AM in the First Christian Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Dakota Rush and David Logsdon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Portable Meals. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.chapman-black.com.
