Matthew John Bellamy, longtime resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this live on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age 57 years in the Cleveland Area Hospital. Matthew was born on November 15, 1953 in Seattle, Washington. He was the son of Edward O. and Effie Jane (Trammell) Bellamy. As a young child Matthew moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona. He later completed his education at Moon Valley High School in Phoenix. Following high school Matthew joined the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was initially stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was then stationed in England where he completed the service of his country. Following honorable discharge Matthew moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma in the mid 1970ís. During his time in Cleveland; Matthew helped his father in the purchasing and sale of real estate for many years. Matthew was an avid fisherman to say the least. He held the State of Oklahoma record for black crappie for a short time caught at Keystone Lake. There were not many days that Matthew was not either fishing or helping others. Matt enjoyed the annual CimTel 5K run held in Cleveland. Most will remember him for running the entire race in his combat boots and the American flag on his back. Matthew loved his country that he fought for; as well as put his life on the line for. He was a devoted Cleveland Tiger Fan and was the one responsible for mowing ìGo Tigersî in the grass south of town for many years. Matthew also did many other things around town that went unnoticed by many; however Matthew never expected anything for his actions. Survivors include his mother Effie Jane Bellamy of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one son Matthew V. Bellamy Moore of Bixby, Oklahoma; six siblings Michael Otte of Aspen, Colorado, Mark Bellamy of Houston, Texas, Claudia Goff of Arkansas City, Kansas, Carrie Taylor of Oolagah, Oklahoma, Candace Bellamy of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Constance Chiplock of Washington, D.C. as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his father Edward O. Bellamy and a daughter Melissa Lee Bellamy. Services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bruce Brosnahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
