Marvie Alladean Bishop

Marvie Alladean Bishop, passed away on Sunday morning October 24, 2010, with her family at her side in Richardson, Texas at the age of 81 years. Marvie Dean was born February 27, 1929 in Osage, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Gus W. and Martha A. (Young) Walters. As a young girl Dean was raised in Osage where she began her education and completed her education. On February 9, 1946, Dean was united in marriage to the love of her life James D. Bishop, Sr. Following their marriage the couple made their home in many places. Due to the fact Mr. Bishop was enlisted and serving his country. Upon the retirement of Mr. Bishop the couple established their home in Midwest City, Oklahoma for several years. In 1977, the couple retuned to Cleveland where she had continued to reside until 2006. In 2006, Dean moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to her daughter and then later moved to the Dallas Area in 2009. Dean loved to crochet. She would often crochet an afghan or bedspread for a friend or family. She also loved the holidays. Dean was always anxious for those times due to the fact she loved cooking. She would always make her children and grandchildrenís favorite dish that they loved. Dean was an avid Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboy fan for many years. Most of all Dean loved her Lord and Saviour. She spent countless hours reading books about religion as well as the Bible everyday. Dean also was a very loving and giving person and enjoyed doing for others. Survivors are her children James D. Bishop, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas, Twilla J. McIlhargey of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Catherine E. Angell of Richardson, Texas, Albert L. Bishop of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister Florence Elma Schofield of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by father Gus W Walters; mother Martha A Walters (Young); brothers Dan Walters, Jim Walters, Bill Walters, Charles Walters, John Walters & Infant Brother, three sisters Mary Engle, Mildred Chitwood 1 Infant Sister, one son Phillip Dean Bishop. Chapel services will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
