Marilyn Sue Stegall, 51, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, August 2, 2010 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Wilbur Wooton officiating. Burial will be in the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Marilyn was born on September 9, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James Ellsworth and Ruby Emeline (Dickey) Stegall. Marilyn began her education in Mannford and later in the 8th grade began attending school in Cleveland. Marilyn was a member of the Class of 1977; she was also voted the ìMost Shyî in her class. Marilyn worked at the Wards CafÈ for many years and later started working at the Cleveland Nursing Home as a nurseís aid. In the early 1980ís, Marilyn was stricken with kidney disease and received her first transplant. She later returned to work for a short time and then began volunteering. Marilyn would often go to the nursing home taking her nieces to help care for the patients. In 1991, Marilyn once again received a kidney transplant which lasted far beyond doctors expectations. Marilyn loved to volunteer and read. She read numerous books and novels however; Marilyn always reverted back to reading books by Lillian Braun who is known for her light-hearted ìThe Cat Who . . .î mystery novels. Marilyn loved being with her family and was one of the few people who would still sit down take the time and write a letter or note and place it in the mail. Survivors are her mother Ruby Stegall of Hallett, Oklahoma, one sister Peggy Shipman and her husband Jim of Hallett, Oklahoma; three nieces Cynthia Evans and her husband Michael of Hallett, Oklahoma, Kristin Davidson and her husband Trey of Hallett, Oklahoma, Kelli Sloan and her husband Brandon of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one nephew Timothy Shipman of Hallett, Oklahoma; one great niece Jordyn; two great nephews Connor and Braden. She was preceded in death by her father James Ellsworth Stegall and a infant son.
