Lucille McCracken, known to her family as "Bobo," went home to her heavenly assignments on Friday, August 13th, 2021, at 96. Born Betsy Lucille Savage on May 26, 1925, in Cave Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Thomas Paul and Nina Mae Newton Savage.

Growing up, she began her education at Mount Herman School; she moved to Oklahoma to attend Union School. She also attended Roosevelt Jr. High and was a graduate of Charles Page in Sand Springs, Class of 42, at sixteen.

Lucille married Rex Neal McCracken, her high school sweetheart, and they had two sons, Rex Gene McCracken and Richard Dewain McCracken.
She attended Glenwood Baptist Church as a child, and into her married life, later she attended Lawnwood Free Will Baptist Church.

Lucille served as the President of the PTA at Riley School, Chouteau School, and Madison Jr. High of Tulsa. She also served as a Den Mother to her sons’ Cub Scouts.

Once her children graduated, Lucille worked at Cities Services Oil Company in Tulsa, OK. She and her husband, Rex, owned and operated McCracken Carpet and Draperies, where they operated a store in Tulsa and Cleveland for over thirty years. Lucille loved fabric and textiles. She enjoyed sewing making custom draperies, bedspreads, and headboards for her customers.

Lucille and Rex moved to Cleveland, OK, in 1969, they moved to Neosho, MO and back to Cleveland, she lived in Terlton the past 17 years. She served her community and many boards during her lifetime. She was a past member of Pilot’s International in Sand Springs, a volunteer worker for the March of Dimes.

Some of her many roles in volunteering and serving included: President of Hill and Dale Property Association, Treasurer of KPPOA, Cleveland, OK, a member of Professional Businesswomen’s Association, Cleveland Chapter, recipient of Woman of the year Award in 1984, member of the Golden Triangle Garden Club for thirty-six years, where she served as the President; noted as her greatest love in life is “black dirt, water, and beautiful flowers and her Garden Club.”

Lucille also served as a member of the Terlton Senior Citizens for many years, serving as the Secretary, Treasurer, and one of the cooks for the Thursday night gatherings. She continued to provide her cooking services past her 93rd birthday each week and volunteered her time for this for eleven years. She also served as a volunteer with E.S.C.A.P.E Ministries, noted Bob and Vickie Thompson, “one of the greatest blessings in her life.” Lucille was also an active member of Oakhill Full Gospel Church of Terlton for many years, where she lived. Most recently, she has been a member of First Baptist Church of Terlton at the time of her death.

Lucille lived her life to the fullest, with family, friends, work, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She noted they made her life worth living, spending their summers with her; there are many memories about growing up with Bobo.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Savage, and wife, Sally of Edmond, OK; her cousins, Ed and Beverly Newton; her son, Rex Gene McCracken and his wife Marquita, of Cleveland, OK, her grandchildren, Rex Gene Jr. McCracken, Michelle Hammons, and Rick C. McCracken; her great-grandchildren, Reagan, Rex, Risa, Riley, Lyn, Kaylee, Ryker, Blaine, Morgan, Garrett, Bailey, Landon, Katlyn, and Lauren, her great-great-grandchildren, Amelia Grace, Haigen, and Emory Rose. Niece’s Lori, Debbie, Sandra, Suzanne, and nephew Jeff McCracken. Also, her Godchild and “only daughter,” Diane McCorkle Lawrence of Sand Springs; her adopted son, Jim Fleming of Sand Springs; and her best friend, Betty Jones of Terlton.

Lucille was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Paul Savage; mother, Nina Mae Newton Savage; brother, Billy Savage, son, Richard Dewain McCracken, three grandchildren, Michael McCracken, Richard Baron McCracken, and Ronny Paul McCracken; her husband of sixty-four years, Rex Neal McCracken; and two of her dearest friends, Velma McCorkle and Nita Gentry.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Terlton First Baptist Church, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00 am. Pastor Justin White will facilitate the service at First Baptist Church in Terlton, 220 Oak Ave, Terlton, OK 74081. , her final resting place is Sinnett Cemetery, Cleveland Old Highway 64, under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home Cleveland; there are no graveside services.
