Linda Arlene West passed from this life on April 5, 2022, at the age of 72 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Linda was born on June 4, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Arnold Ray and Leona Jewel (Marryman) Bethell. Linda moved with her family at a young age to Leflore, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended school graduating with the Class of 1967. On December 19, 1966 Linda was united in marriage to James Harvey West in Poteau, Oklahoma. They initially resided in San Diego, California later returning to Oklahoma in 1969. They made their home in Hodgens, Oklahoma until 1979 when Linda and James moved to Hominy, Oklahoma. Several years later they moved to Cleveland where she has continued to reside. Linda worked at MunsingWear for many years before returning back to school at Oklahoma State University. Linda started her degree in education later completing her master's degree in elementary and special education degrees in 2000. Linda then began working at the Wynona Public Schools before gaining employment at the Hominy Public Schools where she retired in 2020.

Linda was very active in her church Christian Biblical Church of God. Linda enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of the swimming pool. She was always ready to go fishing at any time. Always looking forward to having her family at her home.

Survivors are her three children John West of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Sarah West of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brandi Mitchell of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; seven siblings Arnold Ray Bethell, Jr., David Mark Bethell, Neal Allan Bethell, Ivan Charles Bethell, Terry Don Bethell, Jackie Faye Sassara, Beth Bethell Huntley; seven grandchildren Joshua West and wife Lindsay, Justin West and wife Sydney, Eric West, Rachel West, Kayden Brady, Khloe Mitchell; great grandson Aris Finn West and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents includer her husband James West in January of 2022, daughter in law Tammy Sue West, two brothers Tommy Wayne Bethell, Benjamin Lee Bethell and a grandson Kylar Brady.

Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
