Lillie Alice Ingalls

Lillie Alice Comer Ingalls was born June 20, 1919 in Wister, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Joseph and Pearl Edith (Booth) Comer. Lillie moved with her family at an early age to Cleveland; where she received her education, graduating with the Cleveland High School Class of 1937. Shortly after graduation, Lillie was married to Hugh Harold ìBudî Ingalls on October 19, 1937. The couple made their initial home in Cleveland and raised their four children, Bill, Bobby, Lanny and Carol, here. Although they traveled much during their lifetime as Bud was a pipefitter and worked on numerous jobs throughout the United States, the couple always maintained their home here in Cleveland. Lillie dedicated her life to providing a comfortable and loving home to her husband and children; canning, cooking and cleaning where always her priorities. Her husband, Bud preceded her in death on August 29, 1993. Lillie was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church but has been unable to attend regularly for the past several years. She has resided with her daughter, Carol for several years and was assisted in her care by Beth Brinson and Vella Goodman. Lillie loved to take long rides in the car and was especially fond of spending that time with her family and caregivers. Lillie passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of ninety-three. In addition to her husband, Bud, she was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Pearl Edith Comer; son, Bobby Dale Ingalls; four brothers, Ed, Richard, William "Bill", and Roy Dan "Jack" Comer three sisters, Lula Wilcoxson, Bessie Smith and Bonita Maye Brown; and a grandson, Charlie Ingalls. Lillie is survived by her daughter, Carol Hamilton of Clevleand, Oklahoma; two sons, Bill Ingalls of Cleveland, Oklahoma and and Lanny Ingalls of Cleveland, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Becky Cooper, Teresa Sima, Lana Ingalls, and Buddy Ingalls; three great-grandchildren, Bobby, Tiffany and Audrey; a sister, Ruth Smith of Mannford, Oklahoma; and two special friends, Beth Brinson and Vella Goodman.
