Keith A. Deems

Keith A. Deems was born March 13, 1930 in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of Arnold Theodore and Ellen C. Deems. Keith was raised and attended school in Denver, graduating from North High School in 1948.

Shortly after graduation, Keith accepted employment with the Colorado and Southern Railroad. He continued to work for the railroad for nearly forty years, retiring in 1987 as a senior switch tower operator at the Denver Union Station rail yard.

Upon his retirement, Keith moved to Alto Acres, South of Cleveland, Oklahoma on Keystone Lake. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, often fishing when he was younger. . He especially loved swimming and traveling to the islands of the Caribbean on Windjammer Cruises. He was a sporting enthusiast and enjoyed watching NASCAR events.

Keith passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of seventy-three years, four months and twenty-six days. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Deems.

He is survived by three sons, Larry Deems of Meterie, La, Danny Deems of Thornton, Co., and Gary Deems of Vevay, In.; three grandchildren, Deana Martinez of Lakewood, Co., Kimberly Deems of Lakewood, Co., and Gary Dillon Deems of Vevay, In.; and three great-grandchildren, Zackary Martinez, Adrian Murphy and Nicholas Murphy.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
