Johnny P. Ballard, III was born March 22, 1977 in Palestine, Texas; the son of Johnny P. Ballard, II and Carol Weaver Wilson. He was raised and attended school in Kaufman, Texas. Upon completion of his education, he moved with his family to Jennings, Oklahoma in 1994. After relocating to Oklahoma, Johnny began a career in the oilfields of Northeastern Oklahoma working for Spess Oil Company. Later he accepted employment as a roustabout with Tyler Well Service in Hominy, where he was employed at the time of his death. Johnny was an avid video gamer. He was described by his family as a loving and giving son, brother and father. He was a hardworking and family oriented man that cherished the time he spent with his mother and brother. He also enjoyed watching television. Johnny passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of thirty-one. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny P. Ballard, II. Johnny is survived by his mother, Carol Rose Wilson of Cleveland, Oklahoma, brother, David Wayne Ballard of Osage, Oklahoma; son, Dustin Wayne Ballard of Kaufman, Texas; maternal grandfather, David Junior Weaver of Jennings, Oklahoma; step-grandparents, Paul and Connie Wilson of Cleveland, Oklahoma; nephew, David Ballard of Osage, Oklahoma; and two nieces, Nicole and Shelby Ballard of Osage, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with David Ballard officiating. Burial will be at the Jennings Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
