Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. Pat was born on July 23, 1922 in Blackburn, Oklahoma. He was the son of John, Jr. and Maggie (Anglin) Cobb. As a young man Pat grew up West of Hominy. He later moved with his parents West of Wynona where he completed his education. At the age of 22 Pat joined the U.S. Army and did his basic training at Camp Robert, California. After the completion of his basic training Pat was station in the South Pacific and was on Midway Island as well as the Guadalcanal. He also fought in the Battle of Iwogema. Pat was later honorably discharged and returned to Wynona to help his parents on the family farm. Upon his return to Wynona, Pat enrolled at Oklahoma A & M in Agriculture. He completed his higher education and during that time he met the love of his life Leta Marie Martin. The couple was later united in marriage on July 23, 1946 in Hominy, Oklahoma at the First Christian Church. They established their initial home near Wynona on the Pitts Place. Pat and Leta later purchased the Falls where they raised their daughter Ronda. Pat continued his cattle for business for many years and they remained at the Falls until 1972 when they purchased some additional property six miles Northwest of Hominy. Pat was a true cowboy and was one of a few that really loved going to work everyday. He worked on the farm until 2008 when he sold the remainder of his cattle operation. Pat still tended to the land until his passing. Pat enjoyed being outdoors. He was also very thoughtful of the environment. He worked hard everyday to make as small of an impact on the environment as possible during the time he was working. He was a true conservationist before it was popular. Pat took great pride in trying to make a refuge for the wildlife and its surroundings as well as being a steward of the land. Pat was a past member of the Mound Valley School Board, Osage County Agriculture Board, OSU Extension member and member of the First Baptist Church. In addition, one of the many things that gave Pat the most enjoyment in life was being with his family and friends.
