Jimmie Ernest Anglin

Jimmie Ernest Anglin passed from this life on November 6, 2022, at the age of 79, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Jimmie was born on January 23, 1943, in Anderson, Missouri, the son of John Newton and Emily Theola (Pock) Anglin. Jimmie grew up and attended school in Cleveland, later graduating with the Class of 1961. During high school, Jimmie was a golden glove boxer and an active football player. While in high school, Jimmie worked with Clayton Krotzer. He later began working for his dad as a floor hand and later worked as a derrick man. Jimmie accepted a position with National Tank in Sand Springs before moving to Armco, which later became Sheffield Steel. After 31 years in the steel industry, Jimmie retired in April of 1999. On June 6, 1964, Jimmie was united in marriage to Sandra Yarbrough of Sand Springs, establishing their home in Cleveland, and to that union, there are two sons, Rusty and Mike.

Jimmie met Linda Ballenger while she was playing in a pool league in Cleveland. They were united in marriage on May 14, 1982, at Grace Gospel Church in Jennings. The couple constructed their current home in rural Cleveland, where they have continued to reside and raise their four children, Rusty, Mike, Tish, and Tara. Jimmie and Linda loved lake life and often camped with their kids at Washington Irving in the summers. They also enjoyed fishing on lake Keystone together and trips to Las Vegas.

Hunting, camping, and fishing were always favorite times in his life. Jimmie also taught each kid how to water ski with his fishing boat and enjoy the outdoors. Going to Vegas and the casinos were some of Jimmie's favorite places. A lifelong dream of Jimmie's was hunting and bagging a trophy bull elk.

Survivors are his two sons Rusty Anglin of Mounds, Oklahoma, Mike Anglin of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, two daughters Telisha Nelson and her husband Erik of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tara McFarland and her husband Kelly of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three siblings Judy Breedlove of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Janie Patterson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Joe Anglin of Verdigris, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren Joshua, Chelsey, Rustie, Kyley, Jacob, Emily, Anna, Addison; six great grandchildren Mason, Grayson, Cambree, Raylain, Adaline, Gunner and a host of other relatives and friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda, and brother Jay Anglin.

Services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, with Fred Vaughan and Gary Davis officiating. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Jimmie at www.chapman-black.com.
