Church Services for Jeannie Annie Mary Burger of Blackburn will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Blackburn First Baptist Church with Pastor Allison Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Dwight Varnell, Butch Slead, Coda Burger, Stormi Burger, Stoney Burger, Lane Burger, Tuff Burger, Rowdy Burger, Cage Burger and Robin Burger. Jeannie was born May 4, 1929, in Texas. She was the daughter of Pat and Frankie (Crump) Stone. As a young girl Jeannie grew up and received her education in the Houston, Texas Area. After completing her education Jeannie worked at a local restaurant where she met the love of her life Oda Loyal Burger. The couple was later united in marriage in Buffalo, Oklahoma on September 20, 1952. The couple spent their honeymoon in Lincoln, Nebraska and established their initial home in Enid. In February of 1953, Jeannie and Oda moved to the family farm in Blackburn where she continued to reside. Jeannie began working for Munsingwear in Hominy in 1969. She worked there until the closure of the facility after 20 years of service. Jeannie loved to cook, sew and go hunting with Oda. They also had many friends and family on the weekends come over and trail ride as well as camp out on their farm. Jeannie enjoyed her family and cherished the time they would have together. It was also a yearly event going to the Calvalcade in Pawhuska. Jeannie and Oda would hitch up their wagons and ride to Pawhuska for the opening events. Jeannie Burger passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, five months and twenty six days. Survivors are her children Robin Lee Burger of Blackburn, Oklahoma and her children Coda, Stormi, Stoney, Lane, Tuff, Rowdy, Cage and her grandson Tayven, Cindy Slead of Hominy, Oklahoma, Linda Duvall of Anderson, Texas, Karleen Shipp of Plantersville, Texas, one sister Louise Todd of Tempson, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren , five great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents Jeannie was preceeded in death by her husband Oda, son Gary Dale Burger in 1985; two brothers Boog and Howard Stone as well as one sister Katie.
