James E Byrom Sr.

James Edward Byrom Sr. passed from this life on June 3, 2021 at the age of 58 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

James was born on September 13, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Ernest Edward and Geneva Maxine (Widener) Byrom. James was raised and received his education in Cleveland and Ralston. Following his education James began working in the area. He was employed by the City of Cleveland, Wright Tree Service, and Cleveland Opportunity Center (CSC). On July 17, 1993, James was united in marriage to Vonda and the couple established their home in Cleveland. In 2007, James and Vonda moved to Sand Springs where they have continued to reside. James gained employment with Blue Bell Creamery in 2007, in Broken Arrow where he worked until he was forced into retirement in 2017.

Fishing and ham radios were a pastime of James. Hopping from pond to pond was also a favorite thing for James to do trying to find the place where the fish were biting. James had made numerous connections around the World talking with others. His first year at Blue Bell he was nominated and received the award of Rookie of the Year in 2007.

Survivors are Vonda Byrom of the home, three children David Cordle and his wife Christina of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Matthew Cordle and his wife Ashley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, James Byrom, Jr. and his wife Brittany of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Caden, Tanner, Elyse, Alycyn, Alexys and James.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Byrom, Geneva "Maxine" Widener, Terry L. Bryom, Barbara Byrom and Eddy Byrom.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, June 7, 2021, at the First Christian Church with David Logsdon officiating the services. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for James at www.chapman-black.com.

Pallbearers will include David Cordle, Matthew Cordle, James Byrom, Jr., Caden Cordle, Tanner Cordle and Ty Greenfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Greenfield and Cody Greenfield.
