Jackie Burl Davis, 83, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away on January 7, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jack was born on September 27, 1935, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Jack was the son of Jack and Bessie (Comer) Davis. Jack started his education attending school at Dixie Bear School. He later transferred to Cleveland, where he graduated from high school. Following high school Jack joined the United States Navy. He was inducted into the service of his county on January 27, 1956. Jack served his country until his honorable discharge on December 14, 1959, at that time Jack moved to Payson, Arizona. Jack soon gained employment with the State of Arizona. He worked as a game warden for Arizona State Game Fish and Wildlife Department until he retired in 1981. At that time Jack returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Jack still wanting to remain active he accepted a position with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Jack worked as a probation officer in Tulsa until he fully retired in 1999.
Jack was not a fan of big crowds however he did enjoy being at home or with his family. He did enjoy working outside and always had a large garden. He was a very simple man not needing a lot of things and was always satisfied with what he had. Jack enjoyed listening to Jazz music and going fishing. He had always contemplated the idea of obtaining his pilot’s license but never fulfilled his lifelong dream.
Survivors are his five children Alan Davis of Chino Valley, Arizona, Shelly Wagner of Flagstaff, Arizona, Julie Voakes of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Justin Riley of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michaele Weaver of Cleveland, Oklahoma, sister Glenda Horn of Pittsburg, Texas, sixteen grandchildren and numerous other relatives. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his two sisters Linda Davis and Brenda Slaughter.
