J. Dale Horton

J. Dale Horton longtime resident of Hominy, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years one month and sixteen days. Dale was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on January 4, 1951. He was the son of Nemi and Ruby Christeen (Parker) Horton. Dale was raised in the Prue area until the age of 10. At that time he moved with his family to Hominy, Oklahoma where he completed his education. After completing his education Dale began working for Illinois Industry in Sand Springs. Dale has also been employed at Munsingwear, Power Swivel Inc., Bones Tool as well as Metzger Oil Tools. After working at those locations; Dale started Horton Oil Field Service in the mid 1980ís which he operated for several years prior to Horton Tool Corp. On June 8, 1985, Dale was united in marriage to Janis L. (Metzger). Following their marriage the two of them have operated the business side by side as a team. Dale was a very loving and generous man. He is described as a man with ìgreat morals and integrityî. Dale has been a father figure to many people with his knowledge and inspiration. Dale was also an inventor. He has invented many devices for the oil field industry and one receiving a patent recently which is a multipurpose down hole bridge plug which is now in use. Dale was one of the most caring individuals you will have ever met. Dale loved to take trips especially to Tunica. He and Janis enjoyed each others company while traveling to their next endeavor. One thing most in life that Dale loved most was his family, children and grandchildren. Survivors are his wife Janis of the home, five children Robert Bashaw and his wife Misty of Yukon, Oklahoma, Troy Bashaw and his wife Krystal of Hominy, Oklahoma, William D. Horton and his wife Shan of Prue, Oklahoma, Amy Reed of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Kathryn Robinson and her husband Hershal of Hominy, Oklahoma; two brothers Jim Horton of Hominy, Oklahoma, Jack Horton of Cleveland, Oklahoma, three sisters Shirley Graham of Hominy, Oklahoma, Wilma Stephens of Hominy, Oklahoma, Pam Hambright of Hominy, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Dale was preceded in death by one sister Mary Bell Horton and a brother Daniel Lee Horton.
