Irene Y Ball

Irene Y. Ball was born May 24, 1927 in Keystone, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Earl and Daphne (Bush) Kinney. Irene was raised and attended school in the Keystone area, graduating from Keystone High School in 1943. Upon completion of her education, Irene accepted employment at Classy Cleaners for a short time. She was married to Alfred D. Ball on November 25, 1946. The couple made their home in Sand Springs and raised their six children there. In 1955, Irene accepted employment at Saint Francis Hospital as a nurseís aide working in the newborn nursery for nearly thirty-four years, retiring in 1989. After the death of her husband on June 24, 1984, Irene made her home in Mannford and has been active in the Mannford Community in various capacities since. She served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Mannford Ambulance Service for many years. As a member of the First Assembly of God in Mannford, she would always been found assisting with church and funeral dinners or helping in any way she might be needed. Irene often said that she was saved at the age of nineteen, but she really dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior after her sonís death in 1983. Irene truly loved the Lord and her church family. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed word search puzzles and embroidering baby blankets which she provided family and friends throughout the community. Additionally she loved flower gardening and reading her bible daily. Ireneís favorite pastime, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved greatly. She was described by her family as a godly, loving and compassionate woman that was beautiful and always had a positive outlook on life; revealing and awesome and fabulous grandmother Irene passed from this life into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Saint Francis Hosptial in Tulsa at the age of eighty six. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Daphne Kinney; two sons, Jimmy Ball and Douglas Ball; and a great-granddaughter, Camie Parker. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Davis of Mannford, Oklahoma and Linda Darlene Lawson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sons and their wives, Allen and Antonette Ball of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Donald and Kathy Ball of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and four sisters, Rose Ward of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Alma Bartley of Jennings, Oklahoma, Georgia Beck of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Evelyn Rusco of Yale, Oklahoma Church Services will be held 2:00 Pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at First Assembly of God, Mannford with Rev.
