Irene E. Carter

Irene E. Carter, Cleveland area resident since 1953, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center at the age of seventy-two years, eight months and thirteen days.

Irene was born on April 5, 1929 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Claude Lee and Bessie Mae Wilson. Irene was raised and attended school in the Blanchard area.

Irene was married to Bobby Joe Carter on January 9, 1953 in Concord, California. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where they resided together forover forty years before moving to the Jennings area in 1991. The couple had seven children, Donna, Ronald, Debbie, Mike, Robert, Brad and Mark. Her husband, Bobby Joe preceded her in death on April 1, 1999 after forty-six years of marriage.

Irene enjoyed craft work and in her younger years loved to quilt, crochet and sew. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-greandchildren. In addition to her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Junior Wilson.

Irene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Johnny Allison, Skiatook, Oklahoma; son, Ronald Craig Onstott, Jennings, Oklahoma; daughter, Debbie Davis, Cleveland, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and LaHonda Carter, Jennings, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Angela Carter, Cleveland, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Sandy Carter, Disney, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Carter, Cleveland, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Don Wilson and Mutt Wilson, and three sisters, Faye Franklin, Nona Staggs and Pearl Franklin.

Funeal services will be held Friday, December 21, 2001 at 10:00 AM at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Charles McGrew officiating. Burial was at Woodland Cemetery.
