Henriette Jones

Henriette Ickler Jones was born November 15, 1933 in Friedberg, Germany. She was the daughter of Jacob and Maria Ickler. Henriette was raised and received her education in Friedberg.

Shortly after completion of her schooling, she met an American soldier, Donald Haynes, who was stationed there. The couple was married and had two daughters, Diana and Dorothy. Upon the completion of Donald's tour of duty in Germany, the couple moved to the United States to Michigan. The couple later divorced and Henriette returned to Germany with her daughters.

She again met a United States serviceman serving in Germany and was married to David Paul Jones on Dec. 7, 1962. They moved to Jennings in 1963 where they raised four sons, David Paul II, Daniel Anthony, Andrew Wayne and Thomas Woodward, Once her children where school age, Henriette accepted employment at the Hose Factory in Pawnee. She then later worked as a sand blaster for Dalton's Precision Works in Cushing. She then accepted employment for Earl Gibble, working as a clerk at the Gibble Station on the Cimarron Turnpike. The station was eventually sold to Phillips 66 and Henrietta worked there for a total of twelve years. After a short retirement, she returned to work for Baxter's Pharmaceutical in Mannford for a couple of years, retiring in 1990.

Henriette's hobbies included knitting and dancing. She loved early rock and roll and blues music. She was a World War II history buff as she lived through the war in Germany. She also like to watch television, but especially enjoyed Court Television like Judge Judy and People's Court. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Henriette passed away on Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of seventy years and twenty days. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Dorothy.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Haynes of San Antonio, Texas; four sons, David Paul Jones, II of Jennings, OK, Daniel Anthony Jones of Ada Minnesota, Andrew Wayne Jones of Jennings, Ok and Thomas Woodward Jones of Jennings, OK; eleven grandchildren, Mona Haynes of San Antonio, TX, Ashley Jones of Mannford, OK, David P. Jones III of Olive, OK, Christopher J. Jones of Bartlesville, OK, Braxton D. Jones of Oilton, OK, Hannah Jones of Ada, MN, Andrea Jones of Jennings, OK, Rowdy Wayne Jones of Jennings, OK, Charity Jones of Jennings, OK, Jamie Diede Jones of Jennings, OK, and Autumn Warnock of Jennings, OK; one great grandson, Triston Stacks of Jennings, OK; brother, Walter Ickler and a sister, Renate Ickler, both of Germany.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the Lighthouse Church in Oilton with Harrison Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Jennings Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
