Goldie Marie McGrew passed from this life on March 16, 2019, at the age of 77 in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Goldie was born on December 15, 1941, in Cooke County, Texas. She was the daughter of George Taylor and Della Mary (Maidwell) Stroud. As a young girl, Goldie grew up in Cleveland starting Kindergarten in Cleveland later graduating with the Class of 1959. Following graduation, Goldie remained in Cleveland then meet the love of her life Charles M McGrew. The couple was united in marriage on December 29, 1961, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Sand Springs. Goldie worked at a local oil company as a secretary. She later attended nursing school and worked as a nurse at the Cushing Hospital as well as the Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa. They have also resided in Jenks, Sapulpa, and Idabel. In 1976, Goldie and Charles moved their family to Cleveland. Goldie worked at Dr. Liou’s office for nearly 17 years before she retired.

Goldie enjoyed the cooking, sewing and making crafts. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Gospel music and loved reading the Bible. She and Charles would spend hours reading and discussing the passages of the Bible into early hours of the mornings. Goldie loved her family dearly and always put her boys and grandchildren first. Goldie was a very loving lady and enjoyed helping others without any expectations. She and Charles have been longtime members of the Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors are her loving husband, Charles McGrew of the home, four children Charles M McGrew, Jr of Ft. Worth, Texas, Nathan McGrew and his wife Joann of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Isreal McGrew and Jennifer Edgerton of Jenks, Oklahoma, Josuha McGrew and his wife Stephanie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters Paula Garcia of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Alice Wilkins of Cleveland, Oklahoma, sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as numerous other friends and relatives that will mourn her passing. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents George and Della Stroud, four sisters Evelyn Tardiff, Georgia Shipman, Betty Jean Teasley, and Carolyn Kay Vaughan.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, March 25, 2019, at the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Elfrink officiating. Burial will follow in the Terlton Cemetery with Chapman-Black Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Goldie requested memorial donations be made in honor of her to a mission of your choice in lieu of flowers.
