Glenn Edd Kelsey

Glenn Edd Kelsey, age 79, a retired welder and lifelong resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma, died December 20, 2017, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Glenn was born December 9, 1938, the second of four children of Laura Gertrude Hager and Edgar Kelsey. Glenn married Linda Kay Robinson on July 9, 1966, who survives him. Glenn loved baseball and played in college at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma and then coached little league and American Legion Ball for many years. Glenn had a tremendous effect upon many young men during his time coaching and involvement in little league and American legion baseball.  His teams were very successful in building a solid foundation for wins, character, and integrity. Glenn could make or build anything, especially if it involved pipe or steel and made many pieces of clever yard art and other creations. Glenn planted a huge, unmanageable garden every year and loved to fish, read, plan family reunions, and most of all spend time with his family.

Glenn is survived by his wife Linda Kay of 51 years, and his two children Lori (Tim) Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Larry (Katherine) Kelsey of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren Charlotte and Lukas Kelsey of Dallas, Texas.

Other survivors include one sister, Grace Provence of Stillwater, Oklahoma and brothers Joe Kelsey of New Braunfels, Texas, and Kenny Kelsey of Cleveland, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.

Glenn was preceded in death by one infant son, Scott; and his parents Edgar and Gertrude.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Cleveland, Oklahoma with graveside services at Blackburn cemetery in Blackburn, Oklahoma. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, Cleveland Area Pound Pals animal rescue group or any charity of your choice.
