Edith Inez (Adams) Wills, 70, passed from this life on Sunday, November 24, 2019, in Shidler, Oklahoma. Born on March 24, 1949, in Hominy, Oklahoma, Edith is the daughter of Ernest Melton and Velma Lucille (Mahoney) Adams. Growing up in Osage, she attended Osage Schools, where she was Valedictorian of her eighth-grade class. Following her education, Edith married Bobby Lee Wills. The couple resided in Hominy, Oklahoma. In 1972, they moved to Skiatook and raised their family there. Edith moved to Onancock, Virginia in the early 1980s. While there, she met Richard Lassiter, and the two became great friends and partners. In 2009, Edith returned home to Cleveland, Oklahoma, to help care for her mother.
Edith enjoyed being at home. She cherished her children and grandchildren. Cooking in the kitchen for a big family meal are the memories she cherished most. Homemade chicken & noodles, cranberry salad and potato salad were all family favorites! In her home, she kept a collection of owls. No one is sure of the significance of them.
Edith is survived by her six children, Pamela Jones and her husband Billy of Shidler, Oklahoma, Penny Powell and her husband Brad of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Pollyanna Wills and Rick Godfrey of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Paul Wills of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Patrick Wills and his wife Katy of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Preston Wills and Ashley Bradford of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers Robert Adams and his wife Rhonda of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Darrell Adams of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two sisters Kathy Bluejacket and her husband Gary of Cabot, Arkansas, Sheryl Adams of Wynona, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren Jessica, Jamie, Jennifer, Julie, Jacob, Loryn, Megaen, Justus, Jozlun, Austin, Kellan, Darren, Reegan, Quinton, Brock, Ethan; seven great grandchildren Kingslee, Payton, Adalynn, Jaxson, Elijah, Havilah, Kyler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Lucille Adams, husband Bobby Wills, Life Partner Richard Lassiter, grandson, Randall Swisher, two nephews Troy Adams and Johnny Jones.
A memorial service for Edith’s life will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 11:00 AM in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. Chapman-Black Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.chapman-black.com.
