Donna Edgerton. passed from this life on October 11, 2019 at her daughters home in Spirit Lake, Iowa at the age of 88 .

Donna was born on June 12, 1931, at her parents’ home in Terlton, Oklahoma. Donna was the oldest daughter of 9 children belonging to Don and Lucille Teter. Although they were a big family they always got together for lunch on Sundays with their families had special family reunions on Mother’s Day and Memorial day. As a child, Donna and her family lived on the Naval Reserve near Fairfax, Oklahoma. Donna attended high school in Ralston, Oklahoma where she was active on the basketball team. Following graduation from High School Donna moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where she worked as a soda jerk at the drug store. John Edgerton was home from the Navy and bought a lot of cokes at the Drug Store. After 3 months of dating, Donna was united in marriage to John Edgerton on March 3, 1951, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. They raised 3 children, Gary, Donnie, and Jonna.

Donna worked in the banking business for 62 years, She started as a teller at First National bank and had many roles in the bank. She ended her career at American Heritage Bank as Assisted Vice President. She loved working with the customers and made many friendships along the way. Donna is known as a classy, sophisticated lady but she was really a country girl at heart. You might see her riding a horse in the Pioneer Days parade or riding a steer in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. Donna was active in the community and First Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending sporting events and supporting her kids and grandkids in their activities.

Survivors are son, Gary Edgerton and his wife Sandra of Cleveland, Oklahoma; son, Donnie and his wife Peggy Edgerton of McAlester, Oklahoma; and daughter Jonna Garrett and her husband Dale Garrett of Spirit Lake, Iowa., sisters include Shirley Bateman of Mannford, Oklahoma, Judy Brown of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Debbie Weatherly of Decatur, Oklahoma, surviving grandchildren include Renee Hussey and her husband Sean of Owasso, Oklahoma; Mike Edgerton and his wife Ashley of Jenks, Oklahoma; Brad Edgerton of McAlester, Oklahoma; Matt Edgerton and his wife Ashlin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Chris Garrett and his wife Jennifer of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Kevin Garrett and his wife Aleithia of Austin, Texas; Jon Garrett and his wife Patti of Spirit lake, Iowa; Dalton Garrett and Lauren Schatzberg of Spencer, Iowa.. She has 10 great grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by John Edgerton (Spouse), Don Teter (Father). Lucille Teter (Mother), JoAnn Walls (sister) Linda Wolf (Sister), Bud Teter (Brother) Bill Teter (Brother), Amos Teter (Brother), Joe Edgerton (Grandson), Don Lee Edgerton (Grandson), Pamela Edgerton (Daughter-n-law),

Pallbearers will include Mike Edgerton, Brad Edgerton, Matt Edgerton, Brannon Hussey, Chris Garrett, Kevin Garrett, Jon Garrett, Dalton Garrett, Nick Sparks.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 11:00 – 7:00pm and Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 10:00 – 12:00pm. Services will be Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Oklahoma. Interment will be a Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church.
