Denver Russell Cox passed from this life on March 28, 2022, at the age of 67 in Jennings, Oklahoma.

Denver was born on July 28, 1954, in Pawnee, Oklahoma the son of Robert Russell and Viola Mae (Ballenger) Cox. Denver attended school in Jennings until the 8th grade then transferred to Yale where he completed his education. Denver soon began working the oilfields, building tanks and oil rigs at Cooper Oil Field Rigs in Sand Springs. On July 4, 1981, Denver was united in marriage to Debra Lynn Pry in Cleveland establishing their home in Jennings. Denver and Debra traveled for many years throughout the United States as well as into Canada with his career in welding and tank inspection. Denver worked for several companies including Matrix, Magellan, BP, Enbridge and most currently for Cleveland Integrity.

Denver and Debra traveled for work but always enjoyed coming home for the holidays and being with their families. He loved horses, his tractor and his children not necessarily in that order. He was very passionate about his work and westerns. Going hunting, golfing or grilling outside was some of his other passions. Denver was well-known in the area as a well witcher and prepper. He always enjoyed talking and visiting with others about making sure you had enough guns, bullets and food. Denver is often described as a very personable, dedicated and compassionate individual.

Survivors are his wife Debra of the home; four children Penny Hamrick and her husband Matt of Owasso, Oklahoma, Aaron Alfaro and his wife Karry of Yale, Oklahoma, Nikki Marshall and her husband John of Prue, Oklahoma, Kristopher Cox and Deonna Sullivan of Yale, Oklahoma; sister Linda Frick and her husband David of Jennings, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Kyle, Kailyn, Justin, Lilly, Tabby, Charli, Alex; one great granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Denver was preceded in death by his sister Lavetta Cox, two grandsons Wyatt Cox and Braiden Dawes.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Mike Clark officiating services. Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery at Jennings, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
