Delpha Jean Brewer

Delpha Jean Brewer, resident of Broken Arrow, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 82 years. Delpha was born January 7, 1937 at Fort Smith, Arkansas to Roy Lee and Inez E. (Brisco) Potts. She was raised in Fort Smith until the family moved to Tulsa while she was in high school. Delpha was united in marriage to James O. Brewer in the late 1950’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma They made their home in Tulsa before moving to and living in various towns in Oklahoma; including Weleetka, Wetumka and later Okeene. Delpha eventually moved to Cleveland where she lived by her parents for many years before moving to Tulsa about 14 years ago. For the past three months, she has resided at Senior Suites in Broken Arrow. Delpha enjoyed playing the piano during her early years and always loved having a piano around her. She also loved raising collies early in life, then later raised smaller dog breeds, but her passion was always for her family.
Those that survive include her children – Cathy Nantkes and husband Rick of Claremore, Kevin D. Brewer of Locust Grove, Kelly A. Brewer of Tulsa and Kimberly L. Cowger and husband Duane Cowger of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 12, 2019 at 12:00pm in the shelter in the Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, OK. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland.
