Delores Zelma Smartt

Dolores Zelma Smartt also known as Boots was born on May 28th, 1933, in Drumright, Oklahoma to Robert Thomas and Zelma Cavella Wheat. She spent the first part of her life in the immediate area.
On February 25, 1966, she was united in marriage to Waymon L. Smartt in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The newlyweds called Tulsa, Oklahoma home until the birth of Dana, their daughter. They then moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma before Dana could start school and continued to reside in Cleveland until Dana graduated from high school. They then made their final move back to Tulsa. For the last 6 years Dolores had called her daughters house Home and, in that time, they became very close.
Dolores was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Law and Order, NCIS, and Blue Bloods. She always joked around about wanting to marry Tom Selleck. Christmas has always been a big deal for the family, and Dolores loved being right in the middle of the festivities even in her later years. But out of everything that she loved, her most favorite were her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Although Dolores was a tough woman, beating many illnesses including cancer, she passed from this life at the age of 88 on March 1st, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Smartt, and parents, Robert and Zelma Wheat.
Survivors are daughter, Dana McDaniel-Gerian; grandsons, Logan Wayne Shipman, and Gianni Kent Gerian; granddaughter, Bliss Michelle McDaniel; and great grandchildren, Hattie, Winnie, and Luke Shipman.
Graveside Service will be held 1:30pm Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
