Delbert was born in Jennings, Oklahoma on April 5, 1930. He was the son of Delbert ìBillî Brandin and Dortha May (Babb) Beaver. As a young boy Delbert grew up in Jennings where he began his education. He later moved with his family near Oilton where he completed his education. Delbert began helping his father working in the construction of pipelines throughout the U.S. In 1951 he returned to Jennings and began working at the Sun Oil Refinery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Delbert remained there for several years. Delbert began working in the construction of pipelines once again and soon returned working at Sun Oil Refinery. In the early 1960ís, Delbert moved to Seminole where he continued with Sun Oil and served in the capacity of truck driver as well as pipeline inspector. On December 27, 1967, Delbert was united in marriage to Loretta Barbara Wood in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Seminole where they remained until the 1980ís; when then they moved to Oilton, Oklahoma. In the early 1990ís, Delbert and Loretta moved to Mannford. In 2000 they moved to Cushing to be closer to his daughter where they have continued to live. Delbert was a man who loved life especially his family, cars, antiques as well as a devoted Sooner fan. Fishing, traveling, dancing and going to family reunions with all of his family and spending time with his children gave Delbert great pleasure. His most memorable vacation was one to Colorado which included going to the Royal Gorge. Some of his greatest accomplishments Delbert felt were his 38 years of service with one company Sun Oil. Most of all in life Delbert was a firm believer in God and a profound Christian. He has described him self as a ìtender hearted and good to the unfortunate.î Delbert passed from this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 9 days. Survivors are his wife Loretta of the home, two children Debra Ann Baker and her husband Bob of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Betty Jane Todd and her husband David of Cushing, Oklahoma; three step children Carol Mullins and her husband Tony of Point Blank, Texas, Stanley Wilcox and his wife Marylin of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Sandra Adams of Ada, Oklahoma; two brothers Theodore Beaver and his wife Sally of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Robert Beaver and his wife Nancy of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one sister Allene Loder and her husband Francis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two grandchildren Michael Baker and wife Erin, Ben Todd and fiancÈ Breann, twelve step grandchildren and twenty step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Delbert was preceded in death by two aunts Mable Beaver, Edna Hope; three uncles Donnie Beaver, Dean Beaver and Claude Beaver; one step daughter Shirley Dupree and a step grandson Stanley Collins. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2013, in the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Rev. David Head officiating. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
