Dana Jane Mead

Dana Jane Mead was born on August 7, 1922 in Osage, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Oliver Wendell Mead and Kathryn Susan Mead Jane was raised as an only child attending the Osage Schools and later graduated from Osage High School with the Class of 1940. Following graduation she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma for one year before returning home to Osage. When Janeís father retired from the MKT railroad the family moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 1973, they became members of the Baptist Church. Jane and her mother also were members of the Eastern Star. With the passing of her parents Jane became a resident of the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home in 1982 and was actively involved until recent years. Dana Jane Mead, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life on February 4, 2011 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 88 years. Survivors are John Ferguson and his family of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
