Christopher Hale Couffer passed from this life on February 1, 2022 at the age of 56.

Chris was born on May 16, 1965, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma the son of Lenny and Judith (Burnett) Couffer. Chris began his education in Pawhuska later moving to Hominy during his sophomore year graduating with the Class of 1983. Following high school Chris joined the United States Army serving his time in Georgia, Germany and last at Fort Carson, Colorado. Private First-Class Christopher Hale was honorably discharged on July 1, 1986, and returned to Hominy. Chris later accepted a position with Phillips University and worked as an assistant cross-country coach. During that time, he also attended school there for over two years. Chris once again returned to Hominy, and he began working in Tulsa in warehouses as well as several other locations in the area. On September 23, 2011, Chris was united in marriage to Kimberly Dawn Wilson. They established their home in Hominy and during that time Chris was employed with the City of Hominy. In 2016, Chris moved to Tulsa where he was currently residing.
Chris enjoyed running and exercising. He also like to read especially current events and history.

Survivors are his longtime friend Kimberly Wilson of Hominy, Oklahoma; siblings Lee Burnett and his wife Jennifer of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Lucy Osburn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Judith Couffer of Hominy, Oklahoma, Larry Mobley of Hominy, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives and friends. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents Lenny and Judith Couffer.

Services will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Pawhuska City Cemetery with Pastor Rick Eutsler officiating services. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
