Charles Edward Slamans

Charles Edward Slamans, 76, of Hominy, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at his home. He was born April 18, 1944 in the old Hominy Hospital on Wood Street to Thomas Nelson and Gladys (Dildine) Slamans. Charles attended all 12 grades in the Hominy school system. He married his sweetheart Sharon K. Watson on August 22, 1964 in Tulsa. To this union, their daughter Kimberly was born. Charles graduated from Oklahoma State Tech in 1965 with an associate’s degree in Electronics. He wanted to also obtain a bachelor’s degree in business, so while working for General Dynamics, he attended Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth, TX. After he and Sharon moved back to Hominy in 1969 and while working for Ceja, he attended the University of Tulsa. In 1972, Charles was employed by Public Service Co; and in 1976, he and Sharon fulfilled a dream and opened S & S Accounting, operating it until retirement 32 years later.
Charles loved the Lord and attended the Hominy Church of the Nazarene. He also had a passion for model airplanes and enjoyed building and flying them through out the years. Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his daughter Kimberly Slamans of Hominy; a brother Robert Slamans and wife Dixie of Skiatook; Grandchildren – Lindsey Hester and husband Adam of Cleveland, OK, Ryan and Noah Draper of Cushing, OK, Kendal and Chelsi Tolbert of Virginia, Anni Draper and Averi Draper also of Hominy. Also surviving are six great grandchildren – Kayleigh Hester, Jaxon Hester, Griffin Hester, Charli Golden, River Golden and Lynlee Cobb. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, and sister Betty Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 19th in the sanctuary of the Church of the Nazarene in Hominy with Pastor Carl Brown officiating. Following cremation, he will be laid to rest privately next to his wife in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.
