Carole Sue Rogers

Carole Sue Rogers, 82, passed away on March 23, 2023, in Blackwell, OK. Carole was born on Sept. 6, 1940, to Van Blake and Elvia (Powell) Chesney in Oklahoma City. She attended schools in Oklahoma and Texas, graduating from Jennings (OK) High School in 1958. On Sept. 21, 1957, she married Charles Buddy Rogers. Charles was in the U.S. Navy, and they were first stationed in Long Beach, CA. They later transferred to Bremerton, WA.

After Navy life, the couple moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1961. Carole worked for Variety Wholesale and Hanes Clothing between 1961 and 1968. They relocated to Geary, OK in 1968. She worked as a cook and caregiver in daycare centers until the mid-1970s. Carole then worked as Deputy City Clerk for the City of Geary and later as City Clerk, serving multiple terms before retiring in 1995. She and Charles then moved to El Reno, OK later that year. In 2017, they relocated to Blackwell, OK.

Carole is survived by her son, Mike and wife Ranae; son, Kevin and wife, Stacy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Charles W. Rogers, as well as her parents and seven siblings.
