Carl Hagan, 77, passed from this life on October 8, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on April 14, 1942, in Pierce, Oklahoma, Carl was the son of John and Essie Mae (Horton) Hagan. Attending Pierce Schools, Carl graduated with the class of 1960. Following completion of his education, Carl joined the U.S. Navy, serving one tour as a mail clerk aboard the USS Henderson. Carl returned to the Tulsa area and soon united in marriage to Mary Ann Needham. The couple wed in 1965 and established their home in the Bixby area. In 1997, Carl moved to Glenpool. Carl was currently residing at the University Village Retirement Community. After 30 years of service, Carl retired from the United States Postal Service and for over 20 years worked as the greeter at 81st and Lewis Wal-Mart.

Carl loved to sing and karaoke. He was very family-oriented and enjoyed visiting family while the kids were growing up. Trips usually revolved around visiting family.

Survivors include two daughters Julie McCollough and her husband Bennie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Melinda Hagan and her husband Rick Snyder of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sisters Ellen Gourd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Georgia Connaughton of Poteau, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren Caragan Tillman and husband Michael, Beau Stringer and girlfriend Lindsey, Ruby Forrester, Grayson Forrester, Hannah Streight and husband Jeremy, Rachel Campbell and husband Craig, Kristen Foote and husband Nate, Adam McCollough; and three great-grandchildren Emmarie Rose, Michael Slade and Carter David. Carl is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; Bert Hagan, Betty Waller, William Hagan, and John Hagan.

Carl will be laid to rest in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. An online guestbook is available at www.chapman-black.com.
