Carl Dean Lemmons passed from this life on November 7, 2022, at the age of 74, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma.


Dean was born on March 15, 1948, in Hominy, Oklahoma, the son of Jack Wilber and Juanita Opal (Adams) Lemmons. Dean grew up in Boston Pool, attending school in Cleveland. During his time in school, Dean was active in football. After completing his education, Dean began helping his father on the family farm. In 1977 Dean married Janie Adams. Dean later started working with the pipeline right away crew building fences and finishing the cleanups of projects. During the 1980s, Dean accepted a position with Lamamco Drilling as a roustabout in Osage County. He later began working with his brother Jack building oil field locations operating heavy equipment, and repairing well sites. In the late 1990s, Dean moved to Porum, working several odd jobs, including as a janitor at the Porum School District. In 2000, Dean returned to Barnsdall and started working at District 3 in Osage County as a grader operator. In 2015, Dean retired from the county and was mowing right aways.


Dean always enjoyed being outdoors. His passion was working with cattle and horses. Dean always enjoyed the times he went to the Cavalcade. He liked watching WWE and westerns on television, with his favorite actor being John Wayne. Attending livestock auctions was also a memorable time for Dean. Helping his brothers was always a time that he enjoyed doing whatever was needed.


Survivors are his wife Gwenda of the home; two children Carla Havenar and her husband Junior of Bristow, Oklahoma, Terry Dean Lemmons and his wife Melissa of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; stepchildren Kelly Janway of Hominy, Oklahoma, Aaron Godwin of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four siblings Jack Wesley Lemmons and his wife Deanna of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jerry Lee Lemmons and his wife Sharon of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Lois Dobbins of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brenda Bridges of Cleveland, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Eric Edwards, Stephanie Cartwright, Jaclyn Lemmons, Ryan Lemmons, Braxton Lemmons, three great grandchildren Cassie Edwards, Marcus Edwards, Jade Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his daughter Jaclyn Dean Lemmons, grandson J.C. Edwards, brother Sam Lemmons and three nephews Scott Lemmons, Paul Ray, and Josh Lemmons


Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 14, 2022, at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma, with Waylon Stokes officiating services.
