Steve was born on February 20, 1924, in Drumright, Oklahoma; the son of Richard Augustus and Opal Mae (Ridley) Stevenson. He attended school in Tulsa at Springdale Elementary and Rogers High School. On May 19, 1957, Steve was united in marriage to Doris Jean Youtsey in Mena, Arkansas. They made their initial home in Wichita returning to Mannford, Oklahoma in 1970. He worked on numerous projects and many high rises in Tulsa as well as St. Louis. In 1986, Steve retired from the union after 28 years. Which he bottle and hand fed for many years.
