Bonnye Joyce Upshaw, 82, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed from this life on April 15, 2021.

Bonnye was born on January 4, 1939, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma; the daughter of Troy and Lela (Tucker) Dixon. Bonnye grew up and attended school in Osage, Oklahoma graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1956. Bonnye was united in marriage to Gordon Milo Upshaw on May 14, 1956, at the First Christian Church in Cleveland. The couple moved to Ft. Benning, Georgia. In 1958, Bonnye and Gordon returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma where they raised their four children.

Reading, cooking and watching Fox News on a nightly basis, being around family and especially grandkids were most enjoyable times. Cooking from scratch was always especially important. During high school Bonnye was a very active part of the track team, basketball team and was even team captain. Playing board games and card games were always family events.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Michael and Nicky Upshaw of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three daughters and their husbands, Gwendolyn and Kelley Pogue of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Elizabeth and Bill Cox of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Stephanie and Wade Wolf of Chelsea, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Upshaw of Enid, Oklahoma, Alexis Kim and her husband Jimmy of Champaign, Illinois, Ashleigh Carter and her husband Brad of Texas, Haley Howard and her husband Joel of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Mitchell Cox of Mannford, Oklahoma, Marissa Beck and her husband David, Danielle, Dean Michael and Anna Wolf, all of Chelsea, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Gunner, Grayson, and Gage Carter, Rylee, Isabell and Emma Beck; one sister June Cooke of Virginia; sister in law Carol Upshaw of Cleveland, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. Bonnye was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon Upshaw, two brothers, Buck Dixon, Kenneth Dixon, two sisters Shirley Flores, Marie Caldwell, infant brother Lawrence; two grandchildren Leslie Ann and David Upshaw.
