Bobbie Jean Hulet

Bobbie Jean Hulet, 79, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Cimarron Pointe Care Center in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Bobbie was born January 28, 1938, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Walter Raymond and Luetta Elizabeth (Estes) Powell. As a young girl, Bobbie grew up in the Wildhorse Community of Osage County before moving to Osage, Oklahoma. While residing in Osage Bobbie attended school and later graduated with the Class of 1957. Following graduation, Bobbie began working in Hominy at Munsingwear. On April 27, 1961, Bobbie was united in marriage to Jack Wayne Hulet. Following their marriage, the couple resided in numerous places before moving to Hallett, Oklahoma. In 1978, they returned to Cleveland where she has continued to live. In the late 1970’s, Bobbie began working at Hissom Memorial Center, a care center for individuals with developmental disabilities. Following the closure of the facility, Bobbie accepted employment at the L.E. Rader Juvenile Detention Center until her retirement in 2003.

Bobbie enjoyed knitting and was very artistic often drawing and painting. She also loved to travel. Bobbie has visited Canada, Graceland and also liked going to Branson. Bobbie was very active in making dozens of dolls along with her daughter Brenda to send for a mission trip overseas. Bobbie enjoyed attending services at the Western Heights Baptist church and doing any community projects that the WMU ladies were involved in.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie L. Dickey and her husband Bryan of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brenda J. Bergin of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mary E. May and her husband Jesse of Hominy, Oklahoma, Don Harzman son in law of Alva, Oklahoma, two brothers Walter Raymond “Bud” Powell Jr. and Signe of Osage, Oklahoma, Leon Powell and Carol of Paris, Texas; brother in law Coyote Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two daughters Elizabeth “Liz” Harzman, Judy Pridgen; her sisters Georgia Ann Gordon, Ramona “Mona” Johnson, Inez “Nez” Powell; two son in laws Butch Pridgen, Randall Bergin; two grandsons Nicholas Ira Harzman and Christian May.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will follow in the Osage Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
